Locum Physician - Traumatic Brain Injury/General Medicine

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled physician to join our team in Vermont, providing critical services in General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury examinations. This role is designed for professionals looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our nation's veterans while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. The facility offers flexible scheduling, and you will have the opportunity to conduct evaluations primarily based on interviews combined with some physical assessments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments.
  • Perform evaluations including basic physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
  • Document and submit findings through standardized forms within 48 hours of exam completion.
  • Utilize a Goniometer and possess proficiency in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
  • Engage with veterans and their families, ensuring a compassionate and understanding atmosphere during evaluations.
  • Complete follow-up administrative work, including addendums and medical opinions for reports.
  • Participate in training to stay updated on Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and other relevant materials.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Neurology, Neurosurgery, PM&R, or a relevant specialty.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Vermont.
  • Proficient in METs testing and evaluation of various medical conditions.
  • Own a personal laptop (Windows, no Mac/Apple products).
  • Willingness to complete DMA training for certification as required.
  • Experience with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions preferred.

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Board Certification in a relevant specialty.
  • Active and unrestricted full medical license in Vermont.
  • Willingness to obtain DMA certification as part of the onboarding process.
  • Current curriculum vitae with home address included.
