Seeking BE/BC Pediatric Neurologists for the following opportunities:
- Division Chief - Child Neurology: provide administrative and financial leadership and to define and implement the educational, research/ scholarly, and clinical service missions of the division and department. Clinical duties include outpatient clinic and inpatient consults.
- Medical Director - Pediatric Epilepsy: Clinical duties will include outpatient clinic, inpatient consults, and staffing the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Professional reads of both local and outreach EEGs are anticipated, as is participation in our surgical epilepsy program.
- In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also serve as the Medical Director of Pediatric Epilepsy, EEG, and EMU. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Supervising all activities in the EMU - including the design of optimal workflows and leading quality/safety improvement initiatives, growing the epilepsy surgery program, creating innovative ways to expand access to patients throughout the state, and teaching fellows, residents, and medical students about all aspects of epilepsy and EEG care.
- Physician - Pediatric Epilepsy: Clinical duties will include outpatient clinic, inpatient consults, and staffing the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Professional reads of both local and outreach EEGs are anticipated, as is participation in our growing surgical epilepsy program.
- Physician - General Pediatric Neurology: Clinical duties will include outpatient clinic and inpatient consults.
In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Hospital opened in September 2022, and is the premier site within the state for primary through tertiary care of children.
- The Center consists of the divisions of child neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, psychology, neuropsychology, neurodevelopment, neuroradiology, neuro-oncology, physiatry and rehabilitation medicine. It maintains a Cerebral Palsy and Spasticity Clinic, Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, Neurodevelopmental Center, movement disorders and telehealth programs.
- Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff, and the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children.
- The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 26 PICU beds, Heart Center, and a dedicated Cancer Center. Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently.
- We have a Birthing Center including a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. Only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.
