The Southeast Louisiana VA Health Care System in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a part-time, BC/BE, Nephrologist to serve as a member of its Nephrology Team. Situated along the bank of the Mississippi River in Southern Louisiana, New Orleans, also widely known as ‘NOLA’, was dubbed “The Big Easy”, for its unparalleled nightlife, diverse music scene and unyielding city spirit. Highlights of this position include:

  • Competitive Starting Salary $250,000 – $275,000 (Compensation based on FTE status)
  • Work Schedule: To be determined and include designated rotations or consult service nights and weekends.
  • Provides ambulatory patient care via face to face visits and telemedicine
  • Shares inpatient consult service coverage
  • Shares call responsibilities with the other nephrologists to cover nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Completes electronic consultations
  • Addresses any patient issues or concerns, including electronic messages, medication refills, CPRS alerts, and lab reporting in a timely manner
  • Conducts Peer reviews, as needed
  • Provides guidance and support to the Advanced Practice Provider (APP), as needed
  • Covers Chief duties, as needed

Additional Requirements:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Nephrology
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
  • Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
