Geisinger is seeking a full-time Transplant Nephrologist to assist in the management of our growing transplant population in Danville, PA.Job Duties
We seek an energetic individual committed to the delivery of clinical care and dedicated to teaching and medical education. The practice provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient subspecialty services including pre-transplant kidney and living donor evaluations and postoperative/long term management of kidney transplant recipients and living donors. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our transplant nephrologists and multidisciplinary team in the selection and care of renal transplant recipients and living donors.
The transplant program offers outreach clinics in the northeast and western parts of the state for evaluation and postoperative follow up. Transplant surgery occurs on the main campus in Danville, PA. The transplant team consists of one transplant nephrologist, three transplant surgeons and experienced transplant coordinators. The nephrology department consists of 14 physicians and four physician extenders, backed by excellent support staff.
Teaching responsibilities include oversight of nephrology fellows, residents from our internal medicine program, and medical students from affiliated institutions. An academic teaching appointment is available through Geisinger Community School of Medicine. Opportunities for clinical and translational investigation are available through on-campus research centers.
