*Typical Day: If they are on IP service, they will round on either the acute or chronic service. The Chronic service is more like a medicine service, where the acute is rounds with surgery team. If they are not on Inpatient service, they would have about 3 outpatient clinics a week.
* Candidate will work a UPMC Montefiore and UPMC Presby each day which are connected by a bridge.
*There are two rounding inpatient services, one which is the F service, which is fresh post-tx patients, where we are co-primary with the surgical team. These are patients that are post-op from their surgery; on this service, the Transplant fellow takes the calls, and Attending will staff from home (during the week they are on service). Additionally, there is a C service, which is a service we consult on when transplant patients are admitted to the hospital with other maladies. Generally, this service will field calls from ED/Hospitalist for advice on admitted patients. We have 1 attending assigned to each service per day. Kidney transplant biopsies are done daily (from 1-4/day) and reads are done with path same day –candidates who are trained in this would be plus.
* Outpatient work, estimate of 3 clinics a week. Once we have a candidate and can understand their experience level, we can better identify which clinics we would assign them to, but we do post-transplant clinic, pre-transplant eval clinic, wait list clinic, out-reach clinic, and living donor eval clinics. All current providers do 2-3 clinics a week (these cohort of clinics is divided up amongst the group).
*Call: Candidate will field calls from offsite; Fellow will handle calls and then will call for guidance, if needed.
*APP/Mid-Level Coverage Avail: No
