The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) is seeking neonatologists for multiple positions of clinical pediatrics/physician surgeon to join eleven board-certified neonatologists at any of our OSF HealthCare locations. The position requires three years of residency and three years of neonatology fellowship.
The ideal candidate will be board-certified/board-eligible in neonatology; board-certified in pediatrics is desirable; and will hold or be eligible for an Illinois physician license. The position includes patient services, teaching medical students and residents and opportunities to pursue research.
The primary teaching hospital of UICOMP is the OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospital of Illinois (CHOI), a tertiary care facility serving a 37 county region with a population base of over two million. The 60 bed all-private room Level IV NICU at CHOI has been designated by the state as the Perinatal Referral Center for north-central Illinois. Services offered include high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, ECMO and most surgical subspecialties, including cardiac surgery. We have approximately 900 NICU admissions and 2,500 deliveries per year. The NICU is staffed with advance practice nurses and residents and call is taken from home. We are a part of the Vermont-Oxford Network and strenuous efforts to improve quality and safety are ingrained in our culture. We offer the medical sophistication of a major referral center and cultural diversity in a family oriented community.
Malpractice insurance is provided by the University of Illinois system and an excellent benefits package is available including vacations, sick time, CME, health and life insurance and retirement plan. The University of Illinois may conduct background checks on all job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer. Background checks will be performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
UIC is an EOE/AA/M/F/Disabled/Veteran.
