About the Fellowship
Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), a leading pediatric healthcare institution in Orange County, CA, serves patients across Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. With a dedicated team of renowned clinicians and researchers, CHOC has become a regional leader in neonatal neurocritical care, providing therapeutic hypothermia for approximately 100 infants per year with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).
In collaboration with the University of California, Irvine (UCI), CHOC is seeking a highly motivated physician to join our Neonatal Neurocritical Care Fellowship. This one-year, advanced training program is designed to equip fellows with expertise in neonatal neurology, neurocritical care, and neuroprotection strategies for high-risk newborns.
Our program is actively pursuing accreditation through the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS), ensuring that fellows will be eligible to sit for the UCNS certifying exam upon graduation.

Program Highlights

Qualifications
MD or DO degree from a US accredited medical school
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship
Board-eligible or board-certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Strong interest in neonatal neurocritical care, neurodevelopment, and research
