Neonatologist – Wichita, KS (Perm) | Well-Established Practice at Wesley Medical Center
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Neonatologist to join a reputable and longstanding Neonatology practice in Wichita, Kansas. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality neonatal care within a collaborative team environment and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Position Summary:
- Full-time, permanent Neonatologist role at Wesley Medical Center
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology or Pediatrics with Neonatology Fellowship
- No locum positions; open to J1 and H1B visa candidates, including new fellowship graduates if board certified in Pediatrics
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive neonatal care in a Level III 60-bed NICU serving approximately 6,000 deliveries annually
- Oversee neonatal management for inborn and outborn patients with a focus on optimal clinical outcomes
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions, patient rounds, and critical decision-making
- Engage in quality improvement (QI) initiatives and participate in hospital-based research activities, supported by affiliation with the KU School of Medicine – Wichita
- Provide in-house neonatal coverage through a combination of 8- and 24-hour shifts, on a 7-week rotating schedule, totaling approximately 170 hours per month
- Offer in-house and backup call coverage from home, ensuring consistent and responsive patient care
- Collaborate with residents, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to deliver multidisciplinary neonatal services
- Contribute to education and mentorship of residents and medical students as part of the affiliated academic program
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree with completion of Neonatology fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology or Pediatrics (with Neonatology Certification)
- Valid medical license in Kansas or eligible for licensure
- Strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement
