Job Summary:
We are seeking a Board-Certified Neonatologist to join our dedicated team at Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Virginia. This is a prime opportunity to provide high-quality neonatal care in a supportive, collaborative environment within the scenic Shenandoah Valley. The position offers a balanced professional workload with a focus on family-centered care and opportunities for clinical growth and research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive care to neonates in a Level II special care nursery, supporting a 6-bed unit with 24-hour shifts and flexible scheduling options.
  • Participate in a collaborative model with pediatric hospitalists and neonatologists to deliver seamless, family-centered healthcare for newborns.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of neonatal services, including plans for program growth.
  • Engage in quality assurance activities through Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and contribute to clinical research projects.
  • Access subspecialty support when needed from available neonatal and pediatric specialists.
  • Foster best practices by exchanging knowledge and ideas with a network of thousands of Pediatrix providers across more than 400 NICUs nationwide.

Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO)
  • Board Certification in Neonatology (must be certified or eligible for certification)
  • Valid medical license to practice in Virginia or eligibility to obtain one
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, family-centered neonatal care

Work Schedule & Environment:
  • 24-hour shifts with flexible out-of-house call schedules
  • Opportunities for commuting for qualified candidates
  • Not open to locum or visa sponsorship candidates
