Medical Director - Emergency Medicine Physician

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Medical Director to lead our Emergency Medicine team in Oakdale, CA. This role provides the opportunity to guide a dedicated team of 6+ Emergency Medicine Physicians and 2.5 Advanced Practice Providers, ensuring excellence in patient care while maintaining a flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical leadership for the Emergency Medicine team, fostering collaboration and quality care.
• Oversee the Emergency Department's operations, ensuring adherence to clinical best practices.
• Maintain a clinical presence with 12-hour shifts (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.), offering scheduling flexibility.
• Deliver emergency medical care in an acute care hospital with a 12-bed ED (all private rooms) and 4 fast-track beds.
• Manage an annual patient volume of 20,579 with an average of 2.1 patients per hour and a 4% admission rate.
• Coordinate care with specialists in anesthesiology, interventional radiology, cardiology, general surgery, mobile crisis psych, orthopedics, pediatrics, and wound care.
• Support the hospital’s transition to a Level 4 Trauma designation (expected 2025/2026).

Requirements:

• Board-certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM required).
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in Emergency Medicine.
• Current PALS, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
• Strong ability to lead, mentor, and support emergency medicine teams.
