Surgical Director of ECMO – Lead the Surgical ECMO Therapy Program

Overview:
Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) is adding a physician leader to join their growing department to lead the surgical ECMO program, the only program in the region with the ability to offer this highly specialized therapy to children. CHKD’s ECMO program has earned the Silver ELSO Award for its ability to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to evidence-based processes and quality measures, staff training and continuing education, patient satisfaction, and ongoing clinical care.
Position Highlights:
- Excellent leadership opportunity for an experienced Pediatric Surgeon
- Collaborate with a highly experienced team of 7 mid-levels, 3 trauma surgeons, and 7 pediatric surgeons
- Balanced weekly schedule with 2 OR days and 2 clinical days, plus a 1:7 call rotation
- Academic appointments available through Eastern Virginia Medical School, with opportunities for teaching and mentoring residents
