Physician Medical Director of PACE
Salary Range $230,000 to $316,000 (depending on experience)


Requirements to Apply:
Experience
โ€ข At least 5 years caring for seniors.
โ€ข Minimum 2 years working with frail or elderly populations in long-term care.
โ€ข Previous experience as a medical director.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of the physical, mental, and social needs of frail older adults.
โ€ข Proven leadership skills in an interdisciplinary team environment.


Education and Certification
โ€ข Medical degree from an accredited school.
โ€ข Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice; Geriatric Medicine certification preferred.
โ€ข Licensed to practice in California.
โ€ข Medicine Director Certification preferred.

Job Overview
The Medical Director provides leadership and oversees all medical services, including planning, developing, implementing, and delivering participant care and clinical outcomes. This role involves advising the management team and board of directors on medical
care operations, implementing and overseeing the quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) program, and presenting the QAPI plan annually for review and approval. The Director will oversee the QAPI coordinator, serve on the management team, and work with the program director to negotiate contracts with medical and long-term care providers, ensuring a comprehensive service network. Responsibilities include recruiting and supervising primary care physicians and nurse practitioners, consulting with clinic and home care staff, and maintaining supportive relationships with the team. The Director will participate in staff education, policy development, and program oversight, ensuring adherence to medical care standards and addressing fiscal issues and productivity
targets. This role requires effective community liaison, safety oversight, and continuous improvement in service delivery and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the Director will serve on various committees, promote participant rights, and may need to use a personal
vehicle.
