Join Crouse Hospital, a community-based healthcare organization, as you take on the role of Physician Advisor in Syracuse, New York!
The Position
- The Physician Advisor conducts clinical review on cases referred by case management staff and/or other health care professionals in accordance with utilization review guidelines and is a key contributor in the care transformation process.
- The Physician Advisor will work in close collaboration with approximately 30+ employed hospitalists, as well as with key systems, regional, and market teams, including clinical document improvement, denials, finance, care management, IT, and a peer group of physician leaders.
- Drive care management transformation across the full continuum and a system-wide approach to patient care progression and ensure alignment with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and system objectives.
- The Physician Advisor will strive to advance the health system’s clinical agenda as it continues its journey from a fee-for-service based culture to one which is focused on fee-for-value.
- Acts as a consultant and resource for physicians regarding their decisions relative to appropriateness of hospitalization, continued stay, and use of resources.
- Must bring progressive experience in clinical practice and several years in a physician advisory leadership role. Ideal leaders will possess a background in care management, performance improvement, and care redesign.
Requirements
- MD/DO is required.
- Internal Medicine experience is strongly preferred.
Compensation Range
- The base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $250,000 annually. In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including but not limited to health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. The total compensation for the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The base salary range listed above is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
