Job Title: Program Director

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Director to oversee our emergency medicine program in Asheville, NC. The Program Director will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the program, including clinical operations, quality improvement initiatives, and staff development. This position offers a flexible schedule and the option to work as a locums/1099 or W2 employee.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the emergency medicine program, including oversight of clinical operations, staffing, and resource management.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives to achieve program goals and objectives, in alignment with organizational priorities and standards.
  • Collaborate with department managers, medical staff, and other stakeholders to optimize patient care delivery, enhance operational efficiency, and improve patient outcomes.
  • Monitor program performance metrics, including patient satisfaction, quality indicators, and financial performance, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, peer review processes, and performance evaluation programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Serve as a liaison between the program, hospital administration, and external stakeholders, representing the program's interests and advocating for resources and support as needed.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to program staff, including physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and support staff, to foster a culture of excellence and professional growth.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in emergency medicine practice and technology, and incorporate best practices into program operations.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, and promotes teamwork, communication, and mutual respect.

Requirements:

  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine is required.
  • Current licensure as a physician in the state of North Carolina.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role is preferred but not required.
  • Strong clinical skills and proficiency in emergency medicine practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including strategic planning, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and adapt to changing priorities and situations.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
