We are potentially hiring for a qualified Physician - Internal Medicine (MD/DO) to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our veterans and their families at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, AZ.

  • Employment Status: Full-time
  • Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly OR This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly.
  • Schedule: Monday thru Friday 0630-1730

The Physician - Internal Medicine must have the following qualifications:

  • Degree/Education: Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
  • Certifications current in Provider CPR : (through American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
  • Experience: Successful completion of a minimum of 1 years practicing as a Internal Medicine provider or Family Practice provider.
  • Certification : Current board certification/Board eligible is desired. Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Preventive Medicine is preferred but others will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.

Core Duties:

  • Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.
  • Clinically direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.
  • Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.
  • Facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other health care providers in accordance with MTF policies and regulations.
  • Provide outpatient services for patients as scheduled by the Government.
  • Care shall include but not be limited to routine general internal medicine 18 care to include care for acute and chronic patient conditions.
  • May become the primary care manager for a panel of patients.
  • Duties include managing patient care to include approving/disapproving subspecialty referrals, answering patient telephone consults with the assistance of clinic staff, refilling prescriptions, providing primary and secondary preventative maintenance care.
  • Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergency problems as they occur.
  • Have sufficient experience to be able to adequately diagnose and treat diseases and injuries to include, but not limited to the following:
  • Have sufficient experience to be able to adequately perform the following medical procedures, to include, but not limited to the following:
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation
  • Prepare all records and reports within the timeframe required in support of services rendered and as required by the MTF.
  • Take part in clinic Quality Assurance Program as required to meet the standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
