Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
• Liaise with United Digestive’s 250 GI Provider’s (MD/DO/APP) to integrate obesity management into treatment of chronic conditions.
• Obesity Management: Assess and treat patients with obesity and related conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea). Develop and monitor personalized weight management plans, incorporating lifestyle, behavioral, and pharmacologic interventions. Collaborate with dietitians and behavioral health professionals for a holistic approach.
• Collaborative Gastroenterology Care: Work with gastroenterologists to manage obesity-related GI conditions (e.g., fatty liver disease, GERD, IBS, IBD). Participate in care meetings and ensure seamless coordination of obesity and GI treatments.
• Patient Education & Support: Educate patients on lifestyle changes, answer concerns, and facilitate group education sessions on obesity management and chronic disease prevention.
• Clinical & Administrative Duties: Conduct exams, screenings, and assessments. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure continuity of care.
• Ongoing Education & Development: Stay updated on obesity management and gastroenterology best practices. Participate in professional development, training, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board-certified/eligible in Family or Internal Medicine or related fields.
• Fellowship/certification in obesity medicine or significant experience preferred.
• Active medical license in GA, FL, NC, & SC (licensing support available).
• Experience in multidisciplinary care preferred.
• Strong clinical expertise in obesity-related conditions with a patient-centered approach.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
• Ability to collaborate with gastroenterologists, dietitians, and behavioral health specialists.
