Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician for a permanent, outpatient position in Arcata, CA. In this role, you will provide quality care in a balanced work environment with a consistent schedule, and travel expenses are covered by the client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: See a minimum of 18 patients per day (18 patients per shift) in a mixed setting of pediatric and adult patients.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Chart Closure: Ensure all patient charts are closed within 72 hours of the visit.
  • Practice Environment: Outpatient setting with no on-call duties.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Must hold a valid California Physician License at the time of application.
  • Education & Training:
    • Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. BE candidates will be considered if they are within 5 years of completing residency.
    • We also welcome qualified DO candidates.
  • DEA Registration: An active DEA license is required prior to the start date.
  • Documentation: Candidate CVs must include month and date on all work experience entries with all gaps in employment fully accounted for.

Credentialing & Immunization Requirements

  • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 30–90 days.
  • Required Immunizations (to be completed prior to the start date):
    • 2022-2023 Flu Vaccine
    • TB Status/X-Ray Results (results must be within the 90 days before the start date)
    • Positive MMR Titer or Complete Immunization Series for MMR
    • Positive Hepatitis B Titer or Complete Immunization Series for Hep B
    • Positive Varicella Zoster Titer or Complete Immunization Series for Varicella Zoster
    • Tdap Immunization (must be within the last 10 years)
  • Note: Covid-19 vaccine is no longer required.

Additional Details

  • Decision Timeline: A hiring decision is typically made within 7–14 days of application.
  • Assignment Termination: Both the Health Care Organization (HCO) and Vendor agree to a 30-day notice for ending all assignments.
