HIV SPECIALIST/INTERNAL MEDICINE (MD)

The HIV Specialist/Internal Medicine position is based at the Boriken Neighborhood Health Center, a state-of-the-art Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and NCQA-accredited Patient-Centered Medical Home in East Harlem offering comprehensive pediatric and adult primary care, specialty care, and the Boriken Pharmacy.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive, culturally competent primary care services in an ambulatory care setting. Contribute to quality improvement, supervision of Advanced Practice Practitioners, after-hours call coverage, and other programmatic and clinical functions.

Qualifications

Qualifications: • Graduate of approved medical school • Completion of approved residency •HIV Specialty Board Certification required •Internal Medicine Board Certified or Board Eligible required •New York State Medical License • DEA registration • Bilingual Spanish preferred • Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of principles and practices of Internal Medicine • Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct comprehensive treatment plans • Expressed commitment to work in partnership with colleagues and to guide staff to deliver a high quality of care to health center patients. Must have Active NYS Medicaid/Medicare Provider #.

We are willing to consider IM providers that are not HIV Certified but are willing to commit to seeing HIV patients and becoming certified over a designated period of time.

Working Hours

Schedule: Full time (35 hours per week, 7 hours per day with an unpaid lunch), typically 1 Saturday per month is required with a flexible work schedule for that week
