The Alexandria VA Medical Center is seeking two full-time, BC/BE, Primary Care Physicians to serve as members of its Primary Care Team in Leesville, LA. Known as Louisiana’s Wild West, and for good reason — this is the land where the Coushatta and Atakapa Indians, outlaws and gun-slinging characters with colorful names like Leather Britches Smith called home. The nationally accredited Leesville Main Street is a historic relic where visitors can take their time walking among well-preserved buildings that date back decades. Candidates must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to the care and exceptional health of our veterans. Highlights of this position include:

  • Competitive Starting Salary $240,000-$250,000
  • Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm
  • This position is telehealth eligible (virtual visits- video, remote care by telephone)
  • Provide care to approximately 12-20 outpatients daily in an outpatient setting
  • Responsible for all facets of acute patient care
  • Will assist in completing quality management reviews.
  • Responsible for the successful achievement of applicable Performance Measure and Monitors his/her areas of responsibility.
  • Candidate will take an active part in the peer review process and complete Physician's reviews on time

Additional Requirements:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in IM
  • Experience in Primary Care
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
  • Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
