A Community Health Center in LA is currently seeking a Physician specialized in HIV to join their team.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire)
- Schedule: 2 days per week
- Hours: 9a-5p
Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight of the HIV/STI medical team, offering guidance and support in patient care to ensure the highest standards of treatment and service delivery.
- Perform comprehensive examinations and assessments, diagnose medical conditions, and prescribe treatment for patients in a specialized medical field within both inpatient (if on-call coverage is provided) and outpatient settings as needed.
- Collaborate and consult with physician specialists and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care, treatment plans, and medical diagnostic work performed during shifts.
- Actively participate in patient case conferences and engage in discussions focused on case management and coordinated care strategies.
- Conduct medical record reviews to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuity of care for patients.
- Offer STD testing, treatment, and counseling services, ensuring patients are informed about prevention methods and available resources during on-call shifts.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a CA State Physician's Certificate issued by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of CA.
- Minimum of (2) years of experience in a primary care setting.
- Preferred experience in HIV/AIDS treatment & management.
- Certification as an HIV Specialist or eligibility for certification.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of direct management of antiretroviral therapy along with significant diagnostic and therapeutic experience in the ambulatory care of HIV-positive clients.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, able to engage effectively with patients and team members, fostering a clear understanding of treatment plans and healthcare options.
- Valid California driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance are required for any travel related to patient care or clinic responsibilities.
