Virginia Mason Center for Weight Management - Seattle/North End
Virginia Mason is seeking a Weight Management/Obesity Medicine Physician to join our team. This provider will work primarily at one of our North End regional medical centers with one day per week on our main campus in Seattle. There is some allowance for remote work as well. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in obesity and metabolic health management, certification through the American Board of Obesity Medicine or completion of an obesity medicine fellowship, and the ability to collaborate and program build with our bariatric surgeons.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosis and multimodal treatment of patients with obesity and related metabolic disorders. This includes behavioral counseling/lifestyle coaching, pharmacotherapy, as well as care coordination with dieticians, bariatric surgeons, physical therapists, mental health providers, etc. Help manage patients with post-bariatric surgery metabolic issues such as weight regain, hypoglycemia, vitamin deficiencies, etc.
- Provide full-time outpatient clinical care.
- Participate in Center for Weight Management program development activities (e.g. MBSAQIP meetings, care conferences, growth/strategy meetings, etc).
- Practice location will be primarily in the North End and one day in Downtown Seattle.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of outpatient clinical experience or pending graduation from an obesity medicine fellowship. BE/BC in internal medicine, primary care, family medicine, or endocrinology.
- Certification by American Board of Obesity Medicine (completed or pending)
- Active Washington State medical license in good standing prior to start date.
- Active DEA certification prior to start date.
- Active BLS Certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience and/or interest in health services research is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with or ability to become proficient with the Cerner EMR.

Pay Range
$120.19 - $137.02 /hour
