*Locations: Multiple locations across the state of Virginia to choose from
*Type: Correctional facilities across the state have physicians offices located within the facility. The jobs are supported by a Nurse Manager, who operates the health services system at each site, and an interdisciplinary team that works together to serve the patients. Safety and security are top priorities for all employees.
*Schedule: Permanent/Full-time
*Salary Range: $225,000 - $326,353

*Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted Virginia License
- Board Certified or truly Board Eligible
- Clean background/malpractice (Extensive Background Check will be performed)
- MD/DO Graduation from Accredited Medical School
- Strong experience in medical treatment/management if you are seeking a Medical Director position
- Must submit up to date CV, BC or Residency Certification, DEA, AHA certifications, DL and NPDB prior to application
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, and ability to work cooperatively with nursing dept and allied health professionals

Diagnoses or treats acute health care problems, such as illnesses, infections, or injuries.
Recommends diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with attention to safety, cost, invasiveness, simplicity, acceptability, adherence, and efficacy.
Prescribes medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized.
Prescribes appropriate chemical or mechanical measures to assist inmates to improve behaviors.
Assists with preparation and modification of the treatment plans and recommends appropriating programs.
Educates patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients’ individual circumstances.
Provides evidence-based health education to the inmate population.
