Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated BC/BE Internal Medicine hospitalist consultant to join our team at Providence St Luke's Rehabilitation Medical Center, Providence's flagship acute rehabilitation hospital. This part-time role involves providing medicine consultation and support for a diverse patient population admitted for acute rehabilitation. We serve patients undergoing intensive rehabilitation after spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, organ transplantation, polytrauma, joint surgery, and hospitalization for complex medical conditions.
- Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling options available.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement an individualized plan of medical care as a consulting physician.
- Provide expertise regarding management of complex medical comorbidities, and acute medical conditions developing during rehabilitation.
- Ease transitions of care and ensure medical continuity between the acute hospitalist service and acute rehabilitation facility.
- Ensure high standards of patient care, focusing on quality and safety.
- Document patient interactions, treatment plans, and anticipatory guidance accurately in the electronic health record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the hospital’s clinical protocols.
- Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Internal Medicine.
- Active Washington medical license.
- Previous experience in a hospitalist or acute care setting preferred.
- Previous experience in an
- acute rehabilitation setting preferred
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to manage complex medical conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered and team-based approach.
- Extensive skills in working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Compensation is between $120,522 and $168,940 per year
- The compensation amounts listed may include productivity or quality/service incentives, call pay, extra shift incentives, as applicable to the position. In addition, providers may have CME benefits available to them.
