Internal Medicine Physician

Clinic: Primary and Specialty Care – PANTOPS

Charlottesville, Virginia

The Department of Medicine's Division of General, Geriatric, Palliative, and Hospital Medicine at the University of Virginia is seeking Internal Medicine candidates to provide 100% Outpatient care at Primary and Specialty Care Pantops. This location is integrated with Family Medicine and Endocrinology with two current Internal Medicine Physicians onsite. This location has Phlebotomy, POC testing, radiology nearby, and a pharmacy within a mile radius.

Job Responsibilities

Academic Practice Setting
EPIC EMR
1.0 FTE
Call coverage currently 1:5
Average Patients Per Day: 16-20
NP onsite
Clinical Support including LPN,’s 3 RN Care Coordinators, and MA’s.
Robust RN care coordination program, diabetes education and nutrition programs, a hepatitis C treatment program, and a nephrology specialty clinic.
Diagnosis and management of common medical conditions and disease prevention.
Supervision and teaching of medical residents during their ambulatory medical rotations; and teaching of medical students during their clinical medical rotations.
Attending on the general medicine inpatient unit at the University of Virginia Health System two to four weeks per year may be an option for the interested physician.
Support may also be available for academic or research interests that meet the Department of Medicine’s patient care mission.

Qualifications

MD or DO
Board-eligible/board-certified in Internal Medicine
Some primary care outpatient experience preferred
Committed to providing excellent patient care
