Compensation: 1099 ; up to $225/hour based on experience and qualifications

Job Description:

For this role the Primary Care Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to inmates. This role involves diagnosing and treating a variety of health conditions, conducting clinical reviews, and managing both routine and urgent medical needs. The physician will work alongside other healthcare professionals, including PAs and NPs, to ensure the well-being of the prison population.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive medical care to inmates, including diagnosis and treatment of various health conditions.
• Conduct clinical reviews and manage both routine and urgent medical needs.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as PAs and NPs, to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using the Cerner EMR system.
• Perform physical examinations and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Administer or prescribe medications as needed, ensuring compliance with DEA regulations.
• Participate in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant medical and correctional facility policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Board Certification: MD/DO in Primary Care
• State Licensure: Must have active CA license with no previous license history
• Certifications: ACLS and DEA
• Experience: At least 12 continuous months of experience within the last 3 years in a similar role
• Professional References: Two references from candidates’ reporting authority in the same or higher job classification
• CV/Resume: Must include relevant work history for the last 5 years and any past experience with CDCR
• State License Documentation: Current and clear (front and back photocopies)
• DEA License: Must be presented on the first day of assignment
