Job Summary:
HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital in Jacksonville is seeking an Internal Medicine physician to lead our Transitional Year Residency Program as the Residency Program Director.About Position:
- 13 residents per year
- Up to 52-hours per month devoted to administrative duties for GME
- Residency Rotations on a 13-block schedule
- Close partnership with Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Residency Programs
- Clinical duties are exclusively inpatient Internal Medicine
- Will be responsible for administration and operations; teaching and scholarly activity; resident recruitment and selection, evaluation, promotion, and disciplinary action; supervision of residents and resident education in the context of patient care
- Must be board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine or by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine
- Must meet the following ACGME requirements:
- Must have at least 3 years of documented educational and / or administrative experience
- Documented ongoing scholarly activity within the past five (5) academic years such as peer reviews, research publications, review articles, peer-reviewed journals, textbook chapters, case reports or clinical series presentations at scientific society meetings, and participation in committees and educational organizations
- Be willing to combine administrative and diagnostic (teaching) responsibilities
- Have strong administrative and team building skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
