Position Overview:

We are seeking a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician to join our primary care team in a locum tenens capacity. The successful candidate will practice in an outpatient-only setting with access to state-of-the-art equipment and a collaborative team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consult with patients to determine appropriate treatment.
  • Recommend and order diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Monitor lab results, medication adherence, and potential toxicities.
  • Prescribe and administer treatments, therapies, medications, and vaccinations.
  • Discuss procedures, test results, and prescribed treatments with patients.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists when necessary.
  • Represent the practice at hospital committees, sharing meeting responsibilities with the physician team.

Schedule:

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Call Ratio: Balanced call ratio shared among physicians and sites
  • Daily Patient Census: Approximately 18 patients per day

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified in Internal Medicine
  • Active medical license to practice in California
  • Proven experience in a primary care setting
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
