Job Overview – Lead Physician, Internal/Family Medicine:
Our healthcare client in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Lead Physician specializing in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. This role focuses on delivering top-notch care to IDD patients, guiding clinicians and staff, and showcasing strong leadership within a transdisciplinary team.

Compensation: $270,000 – $290,000/year
Location: Nashville, TN
Schedule: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday


Responsibilities as the Lead Physician:
  • Patient Care: Provide quality care to IDD patients, perform medical assessments, and oversee medication management.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Offer coaching and mentoring to clinicians and staff, demonstrating effective leadership within the team.
  • Patient Review: Conduct thorough reviews of new-patient information before initial appointments and annually.
  • Clinical Assessments: Perform comprehensive medical assessments adhering to best practices and procure genetic workups when necessary.
  • Emergency Management: Manage medical emergencies in the clinic and provide on-call coverage during off hours.
  • Specialist Referrals: Make appropriate referrals to specialists and act as a liaison with off-site medical professionals.
  • EHR Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EHR system as per corporate policies.
  • Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA/OSHA protocols and maintain all necessary certifications and licensures.
Qualifications for the Lead Physician:
  • Education: Medical Degree (MD or DO) with board certification in internal medicine or family medicine.
  • Experience: 2+ years’ experience in diagnosing and managing patients with IDD.
  • Certification: Current ACLS Certification and valid medical license.
  • Skills: Proficient in English communication, computer literate, and experienced in mentoring.
  • Advocacy: Willingness to engage with family groups and programs at local and state levels, advocating for patients with IDD.
