Job Description

CAMC is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Obesity Medicine Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with obesity and related metabolic disorders. This includes diagnosis, treatment, and management of obesity through a multidisciplinary approach that may involve lifestyle interventions, pharmacotherapy, and coordination with bariatric surgery services.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide clinical care to patients with obesity and related comorbidities.
    • Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate dietary, physical activity, behavioral, and pharmacologic strategies.
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including dietitians, behavioral health specialists, and bariatric surgeons, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of obesity management protocols and guidelines.
    • Educate patients, families, and the community about obesity prevention and treatment.
    • Conduct and participate in research and quality improvement initiatives related to obesity medicine.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with CAMC policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

    • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
    • Board Certification in Obesity Medicine (ABOM) or eligibility to sit for the certification exam.
    • Valid and unrestricted medical license in the state of West Virginia or the ability to obtain one.
    • Experience in treating patients with obesity and related metabolic disorders is preferred.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
