Job Description
Work for a unique federally qualified health center in north central Montana that contracts with the local hospital to provide ER and hospitalist services. The staff includes four primary care physicians and 2 advanced practice providers. The ER averages 5 patients daily, and 70% are urgent care items. Candidates can help with ER coverage if desired, but this is not necessary. Candidates have the ability to cover the ER while working in the clinic.
Practice Details
- A new 30,000-square-foot facility is in the works and will open soon, blocks from the hospital.
- Monday through Friday clinic with normal office hours.
- Average around 12 patients per day in the clinic
- Compensation is $240K to $280K, depending on training, experience, and the breadth of services provided.
- Solid benefits include 3% matching retirement, health insurance paid, CME allowance, State and DEA license paid, vacation, etc.

About Shelby, Montana
Once a cattle town, Shelby is now home to oil and agriculture. Located on I-15 and U.S. Hwy 2, this town hosted the World Heavyweight Championship fight between Dempsey and Gibbons in 1923. Today, the local museum features area history, homesteading items, and a dinosaur collection. Nearby, the Sweet Grass Hills offer hiking and wildlife viewing of deer, antelope, elk, foxes, golden eagles, and grouse. North of town, Lake Shel-oole offers camping and outdoor recreation. Be sure to stop at the Carousel Rest Area Shelby. Featuring a restored 1936 merry-go-round with 900 lights and hand-painted animals, the carousel is a labor of love completed by the Shelby community in 2018.
