**Internal Medicine opening in Kansas**_x000D_ _x000D_ Located in ***Coffeyville, KS***, 75 miles to Pittsburgh, KS & 140 miles to Wichita, KS. This position is part of the medical clinical team. This position is responsible for delivering preventive, diagnostic, treatment, patient education and referral care rendered by the center. This position is accountable for the delivery and quality of all services provided the provider and any supervised mid-level providers. Participates in quality improvement initiatives as assigned by the medical director. _x000D_ _x000D_ **Essential duties:**_x000D_ _x000D_ * Provides complete, comprehensive outpatient care for patients including health examinations and treatment of medical conditions, to include follow-up of problems detected_x000D_ * Responsible to manage acute and chronic illness, routine care through care plans that are coordinated, when appropriate, with the patient's behavioral health provider_x000D_ * Responsible to make appropriate referrals to internal disciplines and/or external resources/agencies for additional services required_x000D_ * Prescribes medications for patients for treatment of conditions, as indicated_x000D_ * Provides clinical consultation to other providers as needed_x000D_ * Oversee mid-level providers responsible for providing medical services, as assigned_x000D_ * Oversee medical students, as assigned_x000D_ * Responsible for accurate, timely, and clear medical record documentation_x000D_ * Provide appropriate follow-up with clinical support staff to include telephone/written correspondence (e.g. inform patients of test results)_x000D_ * Provides clear written and oral communication to patients/guardians, and employees_x000D_ * Participates in an on-call system for after-hours care and care for inpatient population, as assigned_x000D_ * Ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of a potential action_x000D_ * Assures that the medical/clinical policies as related to the health services are current and accurate_x000D_ _x000D_ **Qualifications:**_x000D_ _x000D_ * Full licensure to practice medicine in the State of Kansas_x000D_ * Graduation from an accredited school of medicine_x000D_ * Completion of residency in appropriate specialty_x000D_ * Board Certified in appropriate specialty_x000D_ * A strong community/public health orientation, preferred_x000D_ * Commitment to serving the underserved_x000D_ _x000D_ **Core Values:**_x000D_ _x000D_ The core values are dignity and stewardship.
