Job Responsibilities
• Interpreting specialty recommendations and conducting in-house procedures/studies such as ECGs and x-rays.
• Offering telephone consultations in general medicine to staff physicians and unit staff.
• Facilitating referrals to external medical specialists as needed.
• Engaging in communication and liaison activities with patient families, other agencies, and the public to promote enhanced patient care.
• Documenting services and performing basic office procedures.
• Serving on committees and participating in Medical Department meetings and educational seminars.
• Supporting hospital functions, including assuming medical OD responsibilities on a rotating basis, which includes off-grounds telephone availability and on-grounds medical services during holidays and weekends when on duty.
Qualifications
• Completion of a residency program in Internal or Family Medicine in the United States or Canada.
• Possession of a physician's license issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners at the time of appointment, maintaining licensure throughout employment.
• Both MD and DO candidates are encouraged to apply.
