JOB TITLE (#1594): Geriatrician - Bronx, NY

Must be Board Certified

Impact Recruiting Solutions is currently seeking a Geriatrician to fill an opening with a network of federally qualified community health centers located in Bronx, New York.

Requirements of the Geriatrician:

  • Must have an MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of the accredited residency program
  • Must have completed a Fellowship in Geriatrics
  • Must be Board Certified
  • Must have valid NY State license, CDS, DEA, and BLS
  • Understanding of and passion for Community Healthcare is preferred

Responsibilities of the Geriatrician:

  • Examines or conducts tests on patients to provide information on medical conditions.
  • Analyzes records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose the medical condition of the patient.
  • Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results on prescribed treatments with patients.
  • Collects, records, and maintains patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination reports.
  • Refers patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary. Complete and submit appropriate progress reports to the CMO.
  • Advises patients and the community concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and follows federal/state and organization regulations in this regard.
  • Plans, implements or administers health programs or standards in the organization for information, prevention, or treatment of injury or illness.
  • Attends scheduled monthly and quarterly medical staff meetings as well as education meetings.
  • Agrees to see patients irrespective of their medical condition/diagnosis.
  • Provides 24-hour on-call service on a rotating weekly basis.
  • Conducts research to study anatomy and develop or test medications, treatments, or procedures to prevent, or control disease injury.
  • Obtain and maintain admitting privileges to Urban Health Plan's affiliated hospitals.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
