Job Description
A healthcare system in the New York City is actively seeking a licensed Family and/or Internal Medicine Physician to join their growing staff at an outpatient clinic in Queens. In this role, the Family / Internal Medicine Physician will be responsible for providing primary medical care to patients at the Diagnostic Treatment Center or at home as needed.
Responsibilities:
The Family / Internal Medicine Physician will:
- Complete initial assessment and evaluation of new patients
- Provide ongoing monitoring of patient's medical condition and provides the treatment
- Order prescription medications and diagnostic procedures
- Authorize and coordinate all specialty and ancillary services
- Provide in-service staff development and clinical teaching of trainees rotating through the Medical practice
- Participate in the development of such programs as preventive health screening, immunization programs, professional community outreach, quality assurance, etc.
- Participate in a wide range of clinical and epidemiologic research projects and studies of the frail elderly
- Participate in multidisciplinary team activities, including case conferences, hospitalization reports, and family and team meetings
- Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited U.S. Medical School or foreign equivalent
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York
- Board Certification in Family and/or Internal Medicine
Desired Skills:
- Residency in Internal Medicine or Family Practice, Fellowship, and/or experience in Geriatrics
- Passion to work with the Geriatric population.
- 1+ years of working experience
