This position is one of several geriatricians who staff the Healthy Aging Clinic. The incumbent will be responsible for providing clinical care for older adults in addition to interacting with learners. This position will be joining 5 faculty and 3 MSP staff physician in the Division of Geriatrics, Hospice, and Palliative Medicine.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Board certified in Geriatric Medicine
  • Must be licensed in the state of California.
  • Skills required include the ability to consult on complex older adult patients and their broad range of illnesses, conditions and circumstances in the outpatient setting. To participate with the coordination of care in the outpatient setting. To serve as an effective teacher. To effectively communicate with patients, families, non-professional and professional caregivers as well as staff at institutions where patients reside.
  • Knowledge required includes an excellent understanding of the older adult care and the complexity of the health care system for older adults. Successfully work in multidisciplinary teams including nursing, pharmacy, social work and physical/occupational therapy.
  • Abilities/competencies required include functioning in a professional manner with regards to patients, families, colleagues, to maintain compliance with all medical staff policies and to be an effective communicator with a broad range of people.

Our team of geriatric, hospice and palliative care experts provide interdisciplinary team-based care to improve the health and well being for frail, multicomplex older adults across care settings.
