Job Description
Carilion Clinic is searching for Geriatrics Specialist to join the Section of Palliative and Geriatric Medicine. The candidate will provide inpatient and emergency department observation unit consultation and geriatric emergency department (GeriED) consultative care at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, telehealth patient care serving other Carilion facilities in southwest Virginia. The candidate may also deliver related follow-up consultative care at the outpatient Carilion Center for Healthy Aging. Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is a 703-bed teaching/tertiary care referral center and one of the largest and busiest Level 1 trauma centers in Virginia. Education and research activities and opportunities abound through our relationships with the Virginia Tech Carillon School of Medicine (VTCSOM), the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI) and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (“Virginia Tech”). The position requires an academic appointment at VTCSOM.
