Education, Training and Experience Required
- MD, DO
- Board certified or eligible in critical care medicine.
- Preferred to be Board certified in Pulmonary medicine with experience and/or interest in advanced bronchoscopy and lung cancer.
- Ability to work as a team in a busy ICU with the support of APPs
- Ability to perform all technical skills in the critical care setting.
Overview
The intensive care team is composed of board-certified critical care, pulmonary physicians with over 15 years experience. The group has been working together since 2008. The group also includes acute care nurse practitioners who hold decades of experience and are skilled in performing all critical care procedures. Ascension Seton Williamson provides instruction to 4th-year medical students and second-year EM residents who complete their ICU rotation at the medical center.
Our clinicians provide care in several outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine clinics in the Austin metro area. A lung nodule program has been established, and due to the acquisition of the EON software, navigation of incidental nodules and findings on lung cancer screenings are now possible. The hospital also has several advanced bronchoscopic tools including the ION robotic navigational bronchoscope, a Ziehms 3D C-arm, and an endobronchial US.
- Looking for a pulmonary critical care physician with experience and interest in developing a lung nodule/ lung cancer program to join our group of Pulmonary/Critical Care physicians that have served this community since 2008.
- The physician should be experienced in advanced bronchoscopy such as Navigational bronchoscopy, Endobronchial ultrasound.
- In addition to the outpatient pulmonary work, the physician will also work in the intensive care units in the north market.
- In addition to being a busy level 2 trauma, our ICU provides care for many neurology and neurosurgical patients.
- Ascension Seton Williamson has laid the infrastructure for a comprehensive lung nodule program, including EON software, incidental nodule evaluation, lung cancer screening, lung nodule navigator. The hospital also has invested in an ION robotic navigation bronchoscope, and a Ziehm s 3D C arm.
- The program includes a dedicated thoracic surgeon with robotic experience, on site pathology, oncology , radiation oncology. Tumor board is held biweekly.
- The hospital has an interventional neurology program providing thrombectomies. It also has an active cardiovascular program with bypass surgery, endovascular and open vascular surgical procedures.
- Our team has been working collaboratively with our partners in the ED, also staffed by USACS. This integrated approach to patient care provides a seamless transition from the ED to the ICU
