Jefferson is actively recruiting a partl time Cardiovascular ICU Intensivist at our Abington Hospital location in Abington, PA.
Provide evidence-based care for all cardiac critical care patients, including cardiology, cardiac surgery, ECMO, shock and ventricular assist device patients (VADs). Ensures care is informed by the latest critical care medicine research and best practices, improving quality metrics for cardiac surgery, acute shock/ECMO/VAD management, and overall cardiac critical care
Direct involvement in ECMO cannulation and management, supported by dedicated cardiac surgical team.
Teaching and instructing residents and medical students in critical care medicine, oversee and direct patient care provided by Advanced Practice Providers, participate in administrative duties and committee service when assigned.
Participate in call coverage in keeping with the standard for the Department
Requirements:
Active critical care practice in the past 12 months is required. Expertise or prior experience with liver transplantation, cardiothoracic surgery, lung transplantation and ECMO is highly desirable. Willingness to become independent with ECMO is required.
MD, DO, or Foreign Equivalent
Pennsylvania Medical License or eligible to obtain
Board Certification or board eligible in critical care medicine through any primary specialty board (Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery)
Valid DEA Registration Number (Controlled Substance Registration Certificate)
