Local Team Collaboration:

  • Providence St. John’s Health Center’s robust and collaborative team includes six physicians.
  • Work alongside a dedicated group of professionals actively involved in various ICU and hospital committees, including the Critical Care Collaborative, the Pharmacy/Therapeutics Committee, the Ethics Committee, and the Infection Prevention Committee. We are a tight-knit group, regularly bonding over nights out or trips to the beach, ensuring a supportive and cohesive work environment.

Practice in the Heart of the Community

Flexible Scheduling:

  • We offer a flexible schedule with a four on, four off rotation, followed by three on, three off. During the day, we have two intensivists (working 6 am-4 pm and 10 am-8 pm), and one intensivist is on the night shift (8 pm-6 am), ensuring comprehensive coverage while allowing for a balanced work-life schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As an intensivist at Providence St. John’s, you will provide care for critically ill patients in our 23-bed closed ICU, which serves a high-acuity, high-complexity patient population, including medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiovascular cases. You will manage a diverse range of critically ill patients and be involved in advanced circulatory support procedures such as VA/VV ECMO and Impella 5.5.
  • You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including the CT Surgery and Neuroscience groups and surgical oncology fellows. Our team is actively establishing rotations for Critical Care fellows from UCR, offering additional opportunities for professional development and teamwork. The ICU environment provides an opportunity to work with advanced technologies, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • You will use EPIC for electronic medical records and manage a daily census of 4-10 patients per intensivist.
