Local Team Collaboration:
- Join our established team of full-time, part-time, and PRN practicing intensivist physicians with a pulmonary/critical care training background at CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Hospital.
- We work collaboratively with our Sound Hospitalist team to provide continuity in patient care.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified in Critical Care (MD or DO).
- Minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship ICU clinical practice experience.
- Prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in performing all technical skills required in the critical care setting.

- The ideal candidate will work effectively as part of a team, demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence, and showcase forward-thinking and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication (both written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Flexible Scheduling:

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex cases in a co-managed 24-bed ICU, including medical, surgical, and cardiovascular surgery patients. Provide onsite intensivist coverage during the day, with night calls supported by Sound Hospital medicine physicians and additional intensivist backup from home.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including Sound hospitalists and other ICU team members, to deliver high-quality care.
- Contribute to care in a Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center.
- Participate in monthly intensivist team meetings and biweekly practice guidelines meetings with the broader ICU team to promote collaboration and maintain best practices.

Lufkin is a short 1.5-hour drive from North Houston and 3 hours from Dallas.
