OHC (Oncology Hematology Care) is seeking a Hospitalist for our Leading FACT accredited BMT practice in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role is focused on providing appropriate medical care to BMT and cellular therapy patients when they are in the hospital. The hospitalist works in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality healthcare services, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases within the hospital setting.

OHC is a physician owned organization with over 30 years of transplant and cell therapy experience, completing approximately 3,000 cellular therapy procedures to date. The incumbent will collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers specializing in BMT and cellular therapy.

OHC offers a 5 day (weekdays) schedule focused on patient care. OHC offers clinic and inpatient specialist support as needed. Job Responsibilities

Patient Care:
o Provide day to day direct care to hospitalized patients as related to internal medicine such as diabetes, hypertension and other presenting issues.
o May be involved in admission, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge planning.
o Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and document patient treatments. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, including hematologists, radiation oncologists, nurses, and social workers, to positively impact patient care in the hospital setting
o Conduct daily rounds to assess patient conditions and update care plans accordingly.
Collaboration:
o Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
o Collaborates with Hem/Onc physicians with issues related to Hematology/Oncology Care
o Consults with other elected specialists as Hospitalist sees fit.
o Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis. Will work closely with patients to prepare them for their pre- and post-transplant care.
Quality Improvement:
o Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and hospital efficiency.
o Stay informed about the latest medical research and advancements to provide evidence-based care.
Education and Training:
o Educate patients and their families relative to the patients individual circumstances as appropriate. Will provide guidance on lifestyle modifications, medications, and follow-up appointments.
o Mentor and train medical students, residents, and other healthcare staff as required.
Administrative Duties:
o Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with clinic and hospital policies and regulations.
o Participate in OHC and hospital committees and contribute to policy development when necessary.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a residency program in internal medicine
• Board Certification or eligibility in internal medicine.
• State medical licensure to practice.
• Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to provide emotional support to patients and their families.
• Dedication to patient centered care and a multidisciplinary approach to treatment.
