Hospitalist Nocturnist – Philadelphia
We are seeking a Board Certified or Eligible Internal Medicine Physician licensed to practice in Pennsylvania to join our team as a per diem Hospitalist in Historic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Fox Chase Cancer Center is part of the Temple University Health System with a commitment to clinical excellence, research expertise, and community health. It is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)designated comprehensive cancer center. Diagnosing and treating every kind of cancer they offer patients state-of-the-art and best practice treatments as well as clinical trials to cure their cancer. Researchers have won the highest awards in their fields as well as their physicians being routinely recognized in national rankings, and the Center’s nursing program has received the Magnet status for excellence four consecutive times. Today, Fox Chase conducts a broad array of nationally competitive basic, translational, and clinical research, with special programs in cancer prevention, detection, survivorship, and community outreach.
Responsibilities:
- Responding to House calls from Nursing Team
- Rapids and Codes
- Physician Shifts are 7A-7P and 7P-7A (more night than day)
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing staff, specialists, and support services.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic health records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to enhance patient care practices.
- Stay current with advancements in medical knowledge, particularly in areas such as cardiology, pediatric critical intensive care, and occupational health.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Strong clinical skills with experience in managing diverse patient populations.
- Familiarity with radiology interpretations and the ability to coordinate imaging studies effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and participation in ongoing training.
