A non-profit healthcare organization in central Massachusetts is seeking an Internal Medicine physician for an Academic Hospitalist position.
About the opportunity:
- Provide direct medical care to hospitalized patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, specialists, and support staff, to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage patient care from admission through discharge, including conducting rounds, ordering and interpreting tests, and developing treatment plans.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) system-EPIC
- Provide consultative services to other physicians and healthcare professionals as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of hospital policies and protocols.
- Mentor and educate medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
