Opportunity:
- Seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join their team
- Responsible for Level IIB Special Care Nursery.
- Required to round on pediatric inpatients, well babies, and special care nursery.
- Perform procedures including circumcisions, frenotomy, lumbar puncture, intubation, and UVC placement.
- Manage infants born at 32 weeks and above, including CPAP, surfactant, and ventilator care.
- Average of 1,000 deliveries per year.
- Average daily census: 12 patients, including 2 pediatric inpatients, 8 well newborns, and 4 special care.
- Emergency department consults and limited outpatient medical consults.
- Provide newborn care and attend high-risk deliveries.
- Six 24-hour shifts per 28-day block.
- 48-hour shifts from 8 am Saturday to 8 am Monday.
- All call is in-house with access to a call room.
- Average number of patients per day: 8-10.
- Types of cases include well babies, low-acuity pediatric patients (reactive airway, RSV, dehydration), special care for 32 weeks and up, and ER consults.
- Preference for candidates with an Ohio license.
- Must be NRP and PALS certified.
- Preference for candidates trained in circumcision and frenotomy.
- Support staff includes floor nurses and a pediatric educator.
- Sole provider on duty.
- Nationwide Children’s Hospital collaborative partnership with access to pediatric specialists, research, and clinical trials.
- Local administration and decision-making with invested leadership seeking input.
- Preference for candidates within driving distance; hotel accommodations may be provided for multiple-day commitments.
