We are seeking a Permanent Physician - Pediatric Hospitalist in Ohio.

Permanent Physician - Pediatric Hospitalist

Position Type: Permanent

Rate: Open & Negotiable
Shift: Six 24-hour shifts per 28-day block; 48-hour shifts from 8 am Saturday to 8 am Monday.

Position Details:
Patient Population: Well newborns, pediatric inpatients, and special care nursery (Level IIB).
Setting: Regional non-profit health system serving an eight-county community.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide care in the Level IIB Special Care Nursery.
  • Round on pediatric inpatients, well babies, and special care nursery.
  • Perform procedures: circumcision, frenotomy, lumbar puncture, intubation, UVC placement.
  • Manage infants born at 32 weeks and above (CPAP, surfactant, ventilator care).
  • Attend high-risk deliveries and provide newborn care.
  • Consults for Emergency Department and limited outpatient cases.

Required Procedures:

  • Circumcision, frenotomy, lumbar puncture, intubation, and UVC placement.

EMR System: Cerner (integrated across inpatient and ambulatory settings).

Support Staff: Floor nurses and pediatric educator.

Days Per Month: Six 24-hour shifts per 28-day block.

On-Call/Weekends: All call is in-house with access to a call room.

Requirements:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics (within 5 years post-training).
  • Ohio medical license (or willing to obtain).
  • NRP and PALS certification (or willing to obtain).
  • Clean malpractice and license history.
