Job Title: Internal Medicine Teaching Hospitalist
Location: Inland/Rancho, CA
Schedule: 7 on, 7 off (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Employment Type: W2, No Call
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Internal Medicine Teaching Hospitalist to join our team in Inland/Rancho, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a teaching hospital setting while mentoring and supervising medical residents. This position offers a 7 on, 7 off schedule, allowing for a great work-life balance. The ideal candidate will be board-certified in Internal Medicine, have a passion for teaching, and be committed to delivering excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to adult hospitalized patients, managing a patient volume of 18-20 patients per shift.
- Supervise and educate medical residents and other healthcare providers, fostering an academic environment.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform daily rounds, document patient progress, and update care plans in a timely and accurate manner using Cerner EMR.
- Respond to patient concerns, provide education, and involve families in care discussions.
- Collaborate with specialists to provide comprehensive care for complex cases.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and institutional goals.
- Maintain high standards of clinical care in accordance with hospital and medical regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Experience in inpatient hospital medicine and/or teaching.
- Proficiency in Cerner EMR or similar systems.
- Strong clinical knowledge, with the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring medical residents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a teaching hospital setting.
- Interest in academic medicine and involvement in clinical education.
Working Conditions:
