Community Hospitalist

The University of Iowa Department of Internal Medicine is seeking faculty for a position(s) in The Division of General Internal Medicine, Adult Hospitalist Program. Appointment rank will be at the Instructor (non-track) level. The Hospitalist Program offers extensive opportunities for clinicians to practice in a community hospital setting located in the heart of downtown Iowa City. Our campus is also part of a leading academic system committed to changing medicine and healthcare.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have an M.D. degree or equivalent.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Residency Program
  • Board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team

Desirable qualifications:

  • Three or more years of Hospitalist experience

Who We Are
We are a growing physician-run program operating since 2006. We practice within an open medical staff at a community hospital setting located in downtown Iowa City for 150 years. We practice within a flexible schedule and most of our Hospitalists work predominantly day shifts. Our team includes dedicated Hospitalist nurses, a clinical pharmacist, a full-time program manager.
