In this role, you will lead a robust team within your designated region to maintain an outstanding culture that provides the highest level of patient care and experience. You will partner with clinical leaders, clinical educators, and medical directors to develop new business and improve current facility outcomes within the region.
The regional medical director is charged with overseeing the provision of services to clients, including clinical service delivery, and fiscal affairs related to their assigned region (Carolinas and South).

The regional medical director is charged with overseeing the provision of services to clients, including clinical service delivery, and fiscal affairs related to their assigned region (Carolinas and South).
Responsibilities include:
- Provision of clinical leadership and coordination of clinical leaders, clinical educators, and medical directors along with leadership in new business development
- Works in a paired leadership model with the vice president of operations (VPO)
- Participation in clinical rounding/ facility medical directorship duties should not exceed 20% of primary responsibilities
- Working closely with the VPO, clinical leaders, clinical educator and facility leadership will drive expectations that support the goals of consistent clinical performance to ensure optimal clinical outcomes and patient experience
- Works collaboratively with the clinical educator to drive value based care performance improvement outcome goals
- Assures clinical leaders are rounding on a monthly basis and reporting outcomes to drive performance
- Support recruiting efforts to hire and retain clinicians who are passionate about PAC, believe in customer service excellence, and are committed to improving the healthcare ecosystem
- Ensures the onboarding experience of clinicians and clinical leaders is comprehensive and a positive experience
- Schedule and attend regional practice group meetings
- Contributes to the development of annual budgets with VPO and manages contracts to meet budget
- Participates in regional monthly operating reviews (MOR) and quarterly practice review
- Responsible for implementing recommendations from quarterly practice reviews
- Mentorship to practice groups and medical directors
- M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification
- Five or more years of leadership experience managing clinicians
- A regional and/or national reputation in quality outcomes
- Experience and knowledge in evidence based medicine, quality improvement, CMS and pay-for-performance metrics and clinical information technology and implementation
- Possesses a good grasp of clinical work flow in both inpatient and post-acute setting with an interest in clinical information systems and outcomes measurement
- Understands major trends in healthcare and managed care, and is familiar with point of care products and medical informatics trends and tools
- The ideal candidate will not only have created the vision within their current function, but also raised broader issues, influencing overall organizational strategy, thereby contributing to the larger planning process and helping shape the future of the entire organization
- A track record of translating overarching organizational strategy into an effective, long-term action plan for the RMD function
- Must be focused on the development of people including strong skills in mentoring, coaching, building effective teams, selecting physician management talent, and building and growing skill sets
