**Position Overview**
The **Site Chief Hospitalist** plays a key leadership role, reporting directly to the **Chief Medical Officer (CMO)**. The Site Chief will lead the Hospitalist program, drive the development of innovative hospitalist practices, and oversee physician recruitment and retention. This role is crucial in shaping both the short- and long-term strategies of the Hospitalist program to align with the facility's goals. Additionally, the Site Chief Hospitalist will maintain a clinical practice in their area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- **Program Leadership & Strategy**: Collaborate with SMG and hospital leadership to define and implement strategies, goals, and objectives for the Hospital Medicine program.
- **Clinical & Operational Performance**: Ensure superior clinical and operational performance by optimizing the Hospitalist program.
- **Staffing Models**: Develop and implement efficient staffing models to meet facility needs.
- **Interdepartmental Communication**: Lead efforts to improve communication with nursing, ICMs (Intensive Care Managers), and specialty departments to enhance patient care.
- **Personnel Management**: Oversee the management of the Hospitalist team, including recruitment, retention, and personnel development.
- **Cost-Effective Management**: Direct and manage the division in a manner that ensures cost efficiency while maintaining a high level of care.
- **Clinical Protocols**: Lead the development and implementation of clinical protocols, pathways, and order sets specific to Hospital Medicine to standardize and improve care delivery.
Qualifications:
- **Leadership Skills**: Proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and foster collaboration.
- **Operational Expertise**: Experience in managing clinical operations and optimizing performance within a hospitalist program.
- **Clinical Excellence**: Board-certified in Hospital Medicine or relevant specialty with a strong clinical background.
- **Strategic Vision**: Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies for the growth and success of the Hospitalist program.
