**Hospitalist Opening in Maine** - Located in Houlton, ME - Bangor 120m - Full-time, permanent position - Block scheduling 4 to 8 shifts consecutively with flexible scheduling - Hours are 7a-7p on sight with call 7p-7a - Excellent opportunity for BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician with hospitalist experience - Employed position with competitive salary and benefit package - Average daily census is 14 - Variety of patients including four Intermediate Care Beds (No ICU), Acute Patients, Medical/Surgical Patients, Observation, Swing and Days waiting placement - Approximately one to four admits daily - Strong nursing and support staff - EMR is Meditech Expanse - 20 beds, some of those being swing/acute and dwp - No procedures are required - Critical access hospital, no ICU beds. Hybrid physician practice and hospitalist option available. Excellent salary and benefit package with the opportunity to increase income remuneration with clinic visits in the rural health center attached to the hospital. Will work closely with nurses, therapists, social workers and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Conduct regular patient rounds, assess progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans ordering diagnostic tests and appropriate interventions. Will ensure timely and thorough documentation. Will participate in care conferences and family meetings to discuss patient care plans and address any concerns or questions. 25 bed Critical Access hospital with a 10 bed active ED. We are located in beautiful Northern Maine, just minutes from the Canadian Border. The Greater Houlton area offers some of the States most scenic landscapes. The town offers many of the amenities of larger cities, but on a smaller, easier scale, including shopping, fine dining, entertainment, great schools and affordable living options.
